高校で数多く用いられているある文法の準教科書の「比較」の項目に次のターゲット文が載っていました。

I feel all the better for a hot bath.　（文１とします）

私にはこの文１の意味というか、イメージが浮かんでこなかったので、この本のベースになっている文法書（タイトルは『…総合英語』と称しています）を見てみました。すると、文１は次の文と同義であるというのです。

I feel all the better because I have taken a hot bath.　（文２とします）

これなら私にもイメージできます。しかし、文１を単独でターゲット文として提示するのは無理があるように思えて仕方ありません。

皆さまは文１が単独で与えられて意味をイメージすることができますか？私が変なのでしょうか？

This expression I think was abriviated from:
I feel all the better for having taken a hot bath, which was gradually shortened to be:
I feel all the better for taking a hot bath, which in tern was cut short as
I feel all the better for a hot bath.

I think a lot of expressions sound kind of funny don't they when you just hear the compressed versions of some lazy gabbers.
